Seventh Field of Fonons [Action/Voice]
[Action]
[Earlier in the month, Jade Curtiss has started to travel outside of the barrier, in order to gain a better sense of the state of the outside world. It was a risky expedition, but he felt that it had to be done in order to look out for any unforeseen threats. And to make sure that this whole situation truly was real. Whatever Jade might have learned on his journey is unknown for the time being. Because when he finally returns to the enclosure, on the day of the Malnosso announcement, he's afflicted by a Natural Shift which impairs his memories.

Well, not just his memories. Jade Curtiss returns to Luceti as Jade Balfour, a 12 year old fonic prodigy. This Shift has left him without any of his adult memories, although it has curiously left him retaining a memory of the basics of life in Luceti. It might be easy to recognize the similarities to his adult self. However, for the most part he is humorless and uncaring about others, and he hasn't yet taken to wearing glasses.
Jade doesn't alert anyone of his return; he can't even remember for sure what people from his world are here anyway. But he can be found at a variety of places throughout the village. At the library, he compiles a series of various books to research. He's very curious about the types of abilities found in other worlds. Perhaps that could help him in his latest thoughts, which involve trying to find a way to channel the Seventh Fonon. He spends a lot of time in the Battle Dome as well, where he uses his fonic artes, already more advanced then they should be in his age, in a number of simulations. Mostly, the simulations are set in snowy environments that are like his home world, and this involves him facing a number of deadly beasts that may or may not be outside of his range. He has to practice, he knows that he can't rely on the Professor to pull him out of danger forever.
Otherwise, he can be found exploring the general area, trudging through the snow - the environment being a small reminder of his home. Maybe he'll make some snowballs, for the express purpose of target practice on random passersby...]
[Voice]
[Later, he uses the journal system to try to contact the masses. He'll just leave out little things like who he is and the facts relating to his lack of memory. He actually hasn't seen the new Malnosso post either.]
I'm wondering what types of artes you practice in your own world. Perhaps you know it as 'magic' or some other specialized term. Which abilities are common and easy for one to learn, and which are exceptionally difficult or rare?

Going home would be for the best. She'd be ignoring her own lessons about life and death if she chose to stay. If staying were even possible.
At first, she doesn't notice the boy who has his face buried in a book. Not until she throws another glance his way does she truly see it. An image she hasn't seen in, well, more than four years. Technically, it would have been that long, because her 'going home' hadn't allowed her to experience anything from home.
She stands frozen on the spot for a few seconds, and then:]
Jade?
[Action]
Professor. [He stands up, closes the book and approaches her. There's a hint of a smile on his face.] I knew that you had to be here as well.
[Action]
She returns that smile with one of her own.]
Is that so? Was that belief based on facts, or simply a hunch?

Will Jade dare to use this guy (or his hawk) for target practice?]
[Action]
Naturally Jade dares. He watches the man pass by and waits until he's some yards away. Then with some snow scooped up in his hands, he takes aim right at the middle of the man's back, and he pelts the snowball right at it.]
[Action]
What the devil?! [Better hide, Jade, because he's whirling around on the spot to see where that snowball came from.]

You're not very helpful. [He says that very bluntly.]
What is the difference between these eres? [That's a new term. Must be another synonym.]
[Voice] <333!!
Iron eres make you very strong. You can do all kinds of things with crystal eres. And sacred eres are special.

Aim....
Fire! With all the force and accuracy a six-year-old can muster. ...Meaning Jade isn't in much danger.]

It sounds like it's a type of specialized resource. Is there any substantial quantity of 'materia' in this place? And how arduous is the training?

Artes? Well, where I'm from they're called eres...and there are two types, crystal and iron. Iron eres deals with physical attacks like punches and kicks and weapon stuff...while crystal, which is what I am, deals with elemental spells! Y'know, water, fire, wind, darkness...that kinda stuff! But crystal erens also have the capability to heal wounds and do supportive spells and stuff.
And uh...I dunno about rare or whatever, but I've never seen a person who was both a crystal and iron eren. So I guess that's...something? Also there are people who can't use eres at all! You're supposedly born with the capability to use 'em or not.
[Voice]
I see. It's expected that there's not always those who are capable of wielding such talents. So as far as you know, the two types of erens are mutually exclusive? But the crystal eres contain both elemental and healing abilities... [It sounds more convenient than fonic artes. But he doubts that they're better.]

He should have expected something like this. As Jade approached the center of the village, he saw the crown prince from behind as he was making one of those crude-looking snowmen. He takes cover behind a nearby tree as he scoops out a snowball. Then he peeks out, takes careful aim, and throws the snowball to pelt it right at the back of Peony's head, before quickly taking shelter behind the tree again.
This is fun.]

First and foremost, she has to get home, find Law, and make sure he's alright. She can address his little revelation over the journal after.
So wrapped up in her thoughts, and walking as quickly as she can, Perona nearly slams into the small child when she rounds a corner. The ice and snow doesnt exactly help her traction, either. Sorry if she doesn't even really apologize, either, she's not in the greatest place right now, emotionally.]

She recognizes the snowmen and in turn, she recognizes Peony. What a day this is turning out to be. Her approach is a silent one, her tone of voice light with amusement.]

[Well here's a girl who looks like a perfect target. Namely because she's standing on the edge of a bridge, leaning against the guard-rails and looking down at the water... and she's wearing a blindfold. How often do you find so perfect a target for snowball-throwing, right??]
[...of course, she can actually see everything going on around her. But little Jade doesn't know that.]

He doesn't hide; he just scoops up some snow and throws it right at her.]
