[Okay. Okay. Ion is just going to take a very nice and sizable step back and away from Jade now. Because hey, they're able to move now. They've got that going for them at least.]
...perhaps it would be for the best if we were to part ways here for the time being.
[That's all he has to say about that situation, yep.]
That may be a wise decision. Do be careful with your step! I'm sure that unlike myself, the mouths of many of the enclosure's inhabitants could be host to any number of contagions. And we just can't have you sick again.
[He glances back at the mistletoe. He's already sure that it altered his brain chemistry somehow. And that's the one thing that truly bothers himself about this situation: the control that the plant had wrested from him.
Bearing a cheery smile, he whipped his spear out from his arm and thrust upward, skewering the mistletoe.]
[The type of thing is supposed to be something intimate. But Jade could only see it as something akin to a handshake - so he had went through with it just as casually.]
My, with how obsessed their culture seems to be with such things, it doesn't strike me as being extraordinarily strange. It certainly is troublesome, at least.
[Somehow that smile of his is far more frightening than any show of anger would have been.]
...I see. I'll keep that in mind.
[And so, with a weak nod, he's just gonna turn and head off down the nearest path towards the village -- taking the longer route while keeping his eyes vigilant towards the sky lest he wind up trapped under a mistletoe with anyone else.]
[He probably won't be able to look Jade in the eyes for a few days.]
Right now it is. At least the mistletoe is normally reserved for parties or private establishments back home, not like this.
[Headscratch.]
...Anyway. Given some other Earthling traditions, we should probly think ourselves lucky that it was just mistletoe. I don't even wanna imagine what else they could have pulled off this time.
[Unfortunately, while Perona also gives him another yank, Jade's boots aren't going to be walking anywhere. The mistletoe above him does not seem appeased by the pitiful offering it was given and, feeling cheated, it's going to lock him in place. Not only that, but Perona's not going anywhere either, which was her intent the moment she saw her daring gent was stuck where she once was. Their locked hands bond them together.]
What the--oi! [Hi, she's going to shake, squirm, and pull on that hand of yours, Mr. Curtiss.] What the hell is this?! Why am I stuck again, I paid the price for freedom!
[December 26 - January 1st: Mistletoe Event] - RNG has spoken
[And so they are halted. Jade frowns as he glances around. The mistletoe is still in effect; his experiment has provided negative effects.
He lets out a soft sigh as she tugs on his hand. He's used to such treatment from Anise. So once he has a chance to speak, he goes on with a teasing smirk.]
Oh? If I recall correctly, I'm the only one who provided something. Regardless, this proves that this mistletoe has no particular tolerance for chastity. I suppose that we now have only one choice.
[December 26 - January 1st: Mistletoe Event] ffff what even happened in my last tag
My, yes. [He gives a helpless shrug.] I happen to be absolutely dreadful to my opponents. I don't mind employing my fonic arts in a relatively harmless capacity, as well.
[It wasn't exactly comfortable to be waking on a hard unyielding surface. In fact, what was she doing laying down?
B'Elanna quickly sat up, her eyes wide open as she looked around, startled and disoriented. This wasn't engineering, this wasn't even Voyager. She had never seen this place before. From the looks of it, she was on a table in some sort of... old fashioned workshop? This was just getting stranger by the moment.
Suddenly she realizes there is a dull pain coming from her back. Reaching at the source, she's stunned when her fingers brush against... feathers?]
What the hell?!
[Leaping from the table she tries to look behind her at the foreign objects protruding from her back. A shout of pain rising from her throat when she tries to tug on them.]
[It's not unusual for Jade to spend long amounts of time holed up in the workshop, conducting his research and compiling his notes, especially during times of low Malnosso activity. The only distraction lately had been Luke's arrival and helping him get sorted - and dealing with the concept of Luke truly being alive again.
Currently, he was apprehensive about the possibility of some manner of annual love shift, and he had been cross-referencing notes made from all records of previous love shifts that he could find in preparation.
He had left the workshop just for one moment when he returned to find a woman lying on the table. Immediately, he started to take in all visual cues of the newcomer's identity and trying to assess if there was any threat level. It seems clear enough at least that she's a New Feather - and very likely not precisely human.
[ Taking a moment to recover from the intense pain, she quickly looks up on Jade's arrival. Completely ignoring his statement she immediately goes into her demanding questions. And none too quietly either.]
Who are you?! Where am I?! Did you bring me here?! What are these... things?!
Perhaps they've taken a liking to you. You'll find that it's a common occurrence in this world. [Jade's own wings aren't visible currently. He keeps them under his clothes, because exposing something that can be such a critical weak point just doesn't make sense to him.]
And removing them tends to be dreadfully fatal.
[He's never been one for explanations, but after most of what happened back home, he's learned to at least explain enough to keep people from getting themselves killed.]
[The first words were enough to make sparks appear in her eyes and she stomps over to him, practically in Jade's face.]
I don't find you very funny, and if you want to keep that tongue of yours I suggest you start giving me some better answers. I have a ship to get back to.
[Though there is a pause as the word "fatal" sinks in.]
[He's reminded of Natalia by that motion. How nostalgic. He makes a slight tweak at his glasses without being fazed.]
Your ship will wait for you. You're outside of your normal time and space, after all. And so far as I've been able to gather, if you do return home, you'll be tucked nicely back into that same corner of time and space that you last remember.
[She seems smart, so he doesn't see the need to dumb things down at least.]
