So basically! My apologies for Jade, but he's something of a horrible know-it-all and does everything he can to stay ahead of others in terms of knowing things. So to try to catch up on being in a world he knows nothing about surrounded by people from foreign worlds, he'll be doing all the reading he can - both in terms of backreading from the journal and from reading in the library.

This post is pretty much for "what dirt would you like Jade to know about your character/what concepts would you be okay with him already being familiar with from your world when he first meets you"? Or of course you could opt out and have characters be among those whose entries he wound up skipping over/whose world's books he hasn't reached yet in the library.

So pretty much... this is giving Jade knowledge-ammo to whip out on your characters when he needs to troll - but also pretty much to help him shape his first opinions of others since he's all about logic. There is also a miscellaneous field for physical observations he could draw about your characters; this can also be used to record any notable differences in his canonmates (although this section could of course also be covered through tags).

Backreading: Jade can creep all over Ion's life if he so pleases.
Library Stuff: NO JADE CAN'T KNOW ABOUT HIS OWN WORLD.
Miscellaneous: Ion's gotten a couple of inches taller, but he's still pretty tiny. He's actually lost quite a bit of weight because of his recent illness. His hairstyle is the same as always, if not slightly longer in the back, and he doesn't really wear his robes anymore. His voice is a deeper and still cracks on occasion because lol puberty. And of course, he has a number of long vertical scars on his neck that he got from a mallynap about two years back. Sometimes he wears high-neck shirts to hide them, but since they make it easier for people to tell him and Florian apart, he lets them show more often.

Oh, and he'll be in a wheel chair once Jade arrives. That's probably gonna stand out the most.

By the way, Jade and Leonhardt should meet someday. They are very similar character types actually and would likely have a field day with each other.

Backreading: Have at it. Leonhardt does the same, so he knows to filter. Some threads I did note that he went back and filtered the whole thing because something came up and he prefers to keep the whole thing concealed.
Library Stuff: Actually, he's checked out about anything damaging from his world already under a fake name and isn't going to be returning it. That and anything related to orbal engineering and orbal arts. So Jade won't find much from Leonhardt's world except for stuff that is harmless like children's stories, recipe books, stuff like that.
Miscellaneous: Leonhardt's eyes are a feature very commonly commented on. He's noted to have a very troubled expression that makes him look older than he appears. Outside of that, very military like bearing and someone who obviously knows battle far too well. Very quick reflexes and moves very swiftly and stealthily. Depending on what is observed, Jade may pick up on the fact that he's not quite human as well.

Basically, he's about as creepy as Jade can be at times.

See, Leonhardt did consider the destructive method, but with how nothing can seem to be permanently destroyed in this place, he'd rather not risk them showing back up soon after. Better to check them out and hide them is his thought.

This is for Saori, Luke, and Rei since Moiraine is obviously new.

Backreading: Go for it!

Library Stuff:
Perfectly Okay with this as well, though Rei's world is indistinguishable (on the outside) from Japan circa the mid-1990s.

Saori is particularly easy, there are several books about her that Aang helped publish after the Amnesia shift in the library. Mostly fairy tales about her life. There's nothing particularly damaging in any of the texts though. When she wrote it she painted herself in a good light, and published it under the name "Yuuna Sugasawa."

With Luke, my only request is that Jade not find any information about his life during or after the events of Dark Empire. He's removed those books from the library, and not returned them.

Moiraine hasn't scoured the library yet, but I'm OK with basic world information. Specifics on Aes Sedai not so much, it'll set Moiraine on edge.
Miscellaneous:

Luke's right hand is larger than his left, and is always covered by a glove, and as you well know it's mechanical. The side of his face (where Mark Hamill had his accident) also appears to have some scarring, attributed to frostbite.

Rei never looks a man in the eye. Males specifically. She's also got bright purple eyes, and carries herself with dignity and poise no matter what's going on.

Saori's clothes shift, sometimes in mid conversation, into other clothes. Particularly patterns on her kimonos and things. Also, she has a habit of fingering a necklace bearing a bff ring, a pendant, and a small silver locket. A gift from Clint, a gift from Little Loki, and a portion of her soul.

And Moiraine's face and eyes do not match. Her eyes are a LOT older than her face, which is completely unwrinkled. It's considered strange in her canon, and comes from working with the One Power.

Backreading:
Go ahead for both Clint and Max.

Library Stuff: Clint's world is pretty much like the normal world except for the existence of Captain America in history, so go ahead.

Max's world is an AU where history went significantly differently after WW2 so the USSR is still around, the British Empire became a superstate called the Commonwealth, and America is extremely isolationist. Also, the Commonwealth is allied with the Sidhe and magic is common knowledge. Feel free to pick up any history books about his world. The name Woodville might come up, since his grandfather helped broker the alliance with the Sidhe.

Miscellaneous:
Clint is obviously a fighter, he's got some faint scarring on his arms, but nothing hugely visible. He's a little difficult to read, keeps his real thoughts hidden.

Max doesn't look at all exceptional. I guess the most telling thing is that he sometimes rubs at his right arm. He has a pretty awful scar there that he keeps covered with a magic sight shield.

Backreading: Sure, although Cliff hasn't done much of interest yet besides a few conversations about politics on other people's journals.

Library Stuff: The obvious details, of course. Cliff's 'verse is a blend of space age technology and magic, with even applications that apply to and mix hard science with the magic. Symbological genetics comes to mind in this front. Furthermore, there's no reason for Jade to not know that there's a larger Federation that runs things in that 'verse, and that there is some messy politics going on there. An anti-Federation group called Quark is liable to come up at some point, along with suggestions that it's a terrorist organization.

Anything more is liable to have an irritated tank on your hands. No one wants that.

Miscellaneous: There's several obvious things. Cliff is quite tall (6'5 for reference) and well built, and in action there's an obvious strength and coordination that surpasses that a normal Earthling. Some of his attacks use a form of Ki in action, and his skillset is dominated by rapidfire punches, kicks, charges, and the occassional high flying dive. His body language tends to be lazy and cocky, and his attire suggests the same. He's got three piercings on both ears, at the helix, and a series of three green rings tattooed around his neck. His sense of fashion also revolves around tight fitting black clothes of what is probably leather. Oh! And he wears his gauntlets all the time!

Basically. He looks like a common thug, but in conversation it sometimes comes out that he's actually much smarter than he looks.

Backreading: Go for it, on all counts. He generally works to build up filters on private things as much as possible after three years in Luceti, but if it's hackable, sure thing.

Library Stuff: Sure! And there's probably at least some, not the least of which is Freyjadour is part of the Falenan royal family (His last name, 'Falenas' makes this obvious enough.) and his name is probably floating around in texts about recent history (25ish years prior to Albert and Yun's time, to be exact) pertaining to his world, mainly a war and massive recent political shift in the country he had some involvement in through the forming of the Loyalist army. A short summary of Falena's history is here. Publicly speaking at the time, the 10 year old Queen's family was forming an army against her.

Miscellaneous: about 5'10, lean but decently muscular. Often carries a bundle of sticks and chain in a holster at his back that is actually his weapon since he trains several times a week in the battle dome or barracks. Wears his hair long, but primarily keeps it in a braid, and his clothing choices are also neat and tidy for the most part, which might clue Jade in he's used to keeping up appearances. He's very emotive and if he isn't trying to hide how he feels, his emotions show clearly on his face and in his body language. His language falls somewhere between 'well educated and polite' and 'decently casual' in an odd mesh of both.

As for Fayt ([personal profile] etherealblast)--
Backreading: Go for it, there's not much.

Library stuff: See above with Cliff. That's mostly got it covered. Fayt's just an average college student, so there's not much directly pertaining to him, though I suppose one of his parent's scientific research papers might show up, but I doubt it.

Miscellaneous: 5'9.7, lean and lanky but athletic. Body language runs along the lines of pretty casual, but very animated, and Fayt often moves a bit as he talks with gestures, shifts in position and whatnot. Pretty average 19 year old, a little deadpan occasionally when something comes up in conversation that warrants it, and surprisingly intelligent and intuitive with observations about situations, people and the world around him. His clothing choices also fall under 'casual and comfortable'. His weapon of choice is a sword, but his fighting style isn't very uniformed-- slap dash but effective, like he improvises a lot or taught himself.

Backreading: yes obviously, though he can't break her filters. Not that it wouldn't stop him from trying, but yeah, nope.
Library Stuff: Raine had made a point to take the books related to her world out of there for various reasons before it was really organized (especially where mithos and concepts like elves and half elves are concerned) so it is highly unlikely that he'd find anything aselia related. sorry!
Miscellaneous: He hasn't been around long enough to realize she hasn't visibly aged in five years, and the picture options on the journals are tiny so yeah, he probably can't really pick things up from that. He'll probably note that she seems more mature than she looks (and it's not like he's unused to seeing white hair on youngish looking people anyway, though Raine definitely looks younger than Gelda). Then again considering his background that might not really be weird either...!

Backreading: Yes (if she ever uses it)
Library Stuff: He may know all he likes about 18th century Japan!
Miscellaneous: ...I'm not sure what he'd pick up, because Makie doesn't exactly scream prodigy swordswoman. But I can at least say the quiet withdrawn thing is genuine and not an act and ...for someone who carts that shamisen everywhere she goes, she never seems to want to sit down and play it. |D
