[Jade knew the B'Elanna was fairly sharp and worth keeping an eye on, but he was still mildly surprised to be approached regarding a meeting of some kind. He's not sure if it has to do with the missions to the other enclosures, but considering that it's the most recent event of note for the enclosure, it's the first thing on his mind.
He steps into the tea shop wearing his normal military uniform and a sly smirk. As he took his seat at the table, he greeted her airily.]
Good day, B'Elanna. I trust you've made yourself comfortable?
[If only Guy were here, Jade imagines he'd be fighting off his phobia to glean every detail she could remember. There was also Dist, but that's someone Jade wouldn't wish on anybody.]
Oh? And what exactly were these things? [He imagines she's open to divulge, if she called for this meet-up. He looks on curiously.]
[And now B'Elanna leans forward with her elbows propped up on the table.]
The barriers have a power source on the outside. Obviously, I didn't get a very good look at that. But the shifts that it protects us against have frequencies that the barrier is tuned to match. The shields on our starships work in a similar fashion.
[Now this is interesting. Details on the barrier itself... He listens attentively.]
Is that so? That sounds like an effective method of protection, if those natural shifts are as dangerous as I've heard. So it's power source is external in some way... Did you manage to glean any other details relating to that?
You're certainly fortunate. It is interesting information. Most likely it's not something that can be put to immediate use, but it could prove helpful someday. [He weighs it all over as he sips his tea.]
Considering the number of supposed technological geniuses who have come and gone from the enclosure over the years without much in the way of clear progress, that would be quite the feat.
[Today was a very important day and Anise had very important things to do.]
[Well, maybe not very important, but they seemed important enough to her! The house was out of food, and she needed a buddy to go food shopping with. She hadn't gotten to see Luke a lot lately, and he usually didn't have anything to do this time of the day, so he seemed like the best choice! Not only that, but if she went with Luke, she could usually bully him into going to some of the other stores later with her, too! And then finishing off the day at the cafe.]
[Only, Anise was having some trouble finding the redhead. He was usually in his room around now, but nobody answered when she knocked. She couldn't seem to find him anywhere else in the house, either. Luckily, it wasn't too long before she ran into the Colonel! If anybody knew where he was, it would be him, right? She'll happily approach him and try to get his attention.]
Hey, Colonel! Have you seen Luke today? I can't find him.
[And they had very important plans together. That he didn't know about yet, of course.]
[Jade made it his business to keep tabs on his housemates and their respective wellbeings. So it was early in the morning when he realized that Luke had disappeared. He was waiting for a moment to break the news to the entire house. As far as he knew, Luke hadn't made many outside friends this time around, so there was no need for a full announcement.
He looks down towards Anise with a vague frown, his hands in his pockets. Well, it looks like someone will be finding out before the others.]
Anise. I'm afraid that there's unfortunate news on that front.
